Oke-Ogun Youths Call on LG Chairmen to Prioritize Youth Empowerment in an Open Letter

In a passionate appeal to local leadership, the Oke-Ogun Indigenous Youths Solidarity Forum has issued an open letter to all Local Government Chairmen in Oke-Ogun, urging them to adopt bold, youth-centered initiatives that will drive development across the region.

In the letter, signed by Comrade Dr. Ojedokun Jonathan (National President), Comrade Gbadamosi Ibrahim (National Secretary), and Comrade Tiamiyu Waliu (National PRO), the youth group commended the chairmen for their ongoing efforts in grassroots governance and called for stronger collaboration to build a brighter future for Oke-Ogun.

“Your dedication to the growth and progress of our communities is truly commendable,” the letter reads. “But to achieve a sustainable future, we must work together to empower our youths.”

The letter outlines 15 key areas of focus, including:

Skills acquisition programs

Job creation and apprenticeships

Business development and access to funding

Scholarships and education grants

Youth-friendly infrastructure

Health and wellness programs

Technology and digital training access

Mentorship and leadership development

Support for sports, arts, and culture

Promotion of poultry farms and small-scale businesses

The group emphasized the importance of including youths in the decision-making process and called for stronger community engagement, noting that such efforts would leave “a lasting legacy for generations to come.”

The open letter was specifically addressed to the chairmen of the following local governments:

2. Hon. Akinola Gbenga (Saki West LG)

3. Hon. Alade Bashir Olumuyiwa (Atisbo LG)

5. Hon. Ojo Monsuru Olayemi (Itesiwaju LG)

6. Hon. Taoheed Olayiwola Tunde (Irepo LG)

7. Hon. Rasaq Bisi Fadiran (Iseyin LG)

8. Hon. Prince Emmanuel Adedokun (Saki East LG)

9. Hon. Kazeem Olayanju (Olorunsogo LG)

10. Hon. Ogundiran Jacob (Orelope LG)

The forum pledged its full cooperation to all local leaders and expressed hope that their administrations would support youth-focused development initiatives.
